Azaleas fotos de azaleas planta que florece en Primavera
La azalea es una de las plantas preferidas para adornar una habitación. Aunque realmente es de exterior, si se mantiene hidratada y en un lugar fresco de la casa, se llenará de flores año tras año.
Llegó de oriente y se ha adaptado perfectamente al clima español. Su nombre botánico es Rhododendron indicum, y pertenece a la familia de las Ericáceas.
¿Cómo es?
Las flores son acampanadas, en ocasiones de gran tamaño y muy abundantes. Pueden ser naranjas, rojas, blancas o de tonos rosas. Florece en invierno o a principios de la primavera.
En cuanto al follaje, posee pequeñas hojas verdes, que en invierno se convierten en púrpura, brillantes y resistentes.
Sus tallos son leñosos. Si está en una maceta, puede alcanzar unos 50 cm, pero si se cultiva en el exterior puede alcanzar los 2 m de altura..
Claves para su cuidado
-El riego es clave. Debes procurar mantenerla mojada; necesita mucho agua, sobre todo en verano, pero sin que se estanque. Ésta debe ser banda, sin cal; la ideal es la de lluvia.
-Sitúala en lugares muy iluminados, pero sin que reciba luz directa. Si está en la calle, que sea un lugar fresco (semisombra).
-Conviene que el suelo sea ácido, suelto, rico en humus y bien húmedo.
Sus males… y sus remedios
Puede afectarle el chinche de la piel, que aparece en lugares soleados y secos al final de primavera. Si está en un sitio caliente y seco, los ácaros. Los fungicidas funcionan, pero lo mejor es darle los cuidados adecuados.
La clorosis férrica también puede marchitarla (carencia de nutrientes en el sustrato) o el exceso de calor o carencia de agua. Para devolverle su vitalidad, haz lo siguiente:
-Sumerge el tiesto en un recipiente de agua durante 20 minutos (hasta que dejen de salir burbujas a la superficie).
-Sácalo y deja que se escurra. A continuación, envuélvelo en papel de periódico y manténlo así toda la noche.
-Corta dos tercios de las ramas cuando haya florecido por completo y muestre un aspecto pobre.
-Sitúalo en un lugar aireado y claro, y báñalo una vez por semana.
Consejo
La planta florece mejor si las raíces están apretadas, en una maceta pequeña.
Un detalle
Si tiene las hojas amarillentas significa que el agua con que se riega tiene un exceso de cal o falta de nutrientes.
Curiosidad
No estaría de más que utilizaras tiestos de barro, favorecen un mejor drenaje del agua.
